Question :

Is there a place where I can ask fitness and weight lifting questions?

I ask here at the Yahoo answers, but don t get much response. Is there any website where I can ask questions about fitness and weight lifting?

Or is there a specific good time to ask question at Yahoo! Answers. I live in Eastern Daylight Time (Toronto)
Answer :
I would be happy to answer your questions. I have a BS in Nutrition and an MS in physical therapy. I have been a fitness instructor and personal trainer for close to 15 years.

Question :

What weight-lifting/fitness stuff can i do to increase sprint speed and endurance?

I am a 17 year and i play U19 rugby
i am trying to get faster, because the other flanker that I compete against is nine times faster than me in sprinting, my only advantage is outlasting him
i want to increase both endurance and speed
i already do weighted squats and basic stretching, so what else can i do

i don t want stupid answers like becoming black, becuase honestly, who really wants to be black
Answer :
Step 1
Perfect your running form. Make sure your running posture is correct, and keep your hands from clenching as you run. Look ahead and keep your torso straight and arms at 90-degree angles.

Step 2
Avoid tensing opposing muscles, known as "tying-up." Keep your arms relaxed and shoulders dropped and level. Your jaw should be slack and not clenched.

Step 3
Practice sprinting down hill without slowing yourself. You will go faster because of gravity, and your body and muscle memory will become accustomed to the longer stride and faster pace. This will carry over to the flat track and help you shave some seconds or fractions of seconds off of your time. Do this for several weeks, several times a year.

Step 4
Keep your legs pointed in the vertical (forward) plane at all times. Avoid any sideways (lateral) movement from either leg. It is important that all energy is used to drive you forward, and not dissipated to the sides.

Step 5
Keep up a high level of training, varying workouts to increase your speed. However, let your body rest for a couple days with lighter training sessions prior to a match or race.
Question :

Supplements and drinks for fitness and weight lifting?

Are there any really good suupplements or drinks that are good to maintain my weight when I work out about 3 days a week? What can anyone tell me about the supplemental drink Myoplex (may not be spelled correctly)?
Answer :
I agree with the other answerer. Don t purchase anabolic steroids or other questionable supplements. Whey protein is the best way to go. Eat lots of fatty meat too.

Myoplex is a meal replacement supplement so its probably not the best thing for a person looking to gain muscle mass.
